What is ORDI?

ORDI (ORDI) is a DeFi functional addition to BTC, allowing users to inscribe digital data within individual satoshis (the smallest currency unit of bitcoin). This essentially creates digital artefacts that are stored on the Bitcoin blockchain and enables Bitcoin-based NFTs.

  • ORDI employ what is known as Ordinal theory. This involves giving individual identities to satoshis and allows each of them to be transferred, tracked and imbued with meaning.
  • Each inscribed satoshi becomes a unique Bitcoin artefacts, transferable via Bitcoin transactions. With 21 million Bitcoins in circulation, each can be subdivided into 100 million satoshis.
  • ORDI is the native token of the platform, it is unique in its singular focus. There is no governance, airdrops or major changes. ORDI allows token holders to inscribe data.

Ordinal aims to make each satoshi unique and individualised, while giving ORDI holders the power to inscribe each with different kinds of content.
