What is Raydium?

Raydium (RAY) is a decentralised exchange (DEX), automated market maker (AMM) and liquidity provider that has been built on the Solana. RAY is the native utility token used for the Raydium exchange.

  • RAY is a reward for activities on the Raydium exchange such as, staking to earn protocol fees and IDO allocation. As well as governance votes on protocol decisions.
  • Raydium provides on-chain liquidity, utilising its pool liquidity to place order on the central order book of the Serum DEX. This then gives Raydium LP users access to Serum’s order flow.
  • Raydium as a platform is made up of three central components. The Raydium liquidity pools, liquidity mining rewards via yield farming and what Raydium refers to as ‘AcceleRaytor’. This is a IDO launch pad for the latest Solana projects.

Raydium aims to provide ecosystem wide liquidity for users and projects, while also enabling individuals to participate in up and coming Solana projects via staking their Ray. As such Raydium is set to be at the forefront of DeFi.
