What is Tellor?

Tellor (TRB) is a decentralised oracle network consisting of a community of token holders, data providers and validators. These participants work together to secure real world data on the blockchain.

  • The network is run by Proof-of-Work (PoW) miners that compete to fetch data and place it on the blockchain for smart contracts.
  • Miners are required to pay a deposit of TRB before they can compete and start mining. If a bad piece of data is submitted, the community can dispute it and slash a miner's stake for being malicious.
  • Tellor Tributes (TRB) are the native token of the Tellor network. These are used to incentivise miners to provide data through base rewards and tips via user requests. They also used for governance purposes such as handling disputes or proposals.
